Accommodations

Quiet. Clean. Comfortable. Appropriate for a Jewish retreat.

A Space That Supports the Work

The physical environment of a retreat matters. At Silent Retreatment, accommodations are chosen with care: quiet, clean, comfortable, and connected to nature. The setting supports the inner work of the retreat — not through luxury, but through simplicity, privacy, and the kind of atmosphere that makes genuine rest and reflection possible.

A quiet and comfortable retreat room

Specific room types, amenities and accessibility information will appear with each retreat listing.

Retreat accommodations

Private and Shared Rooms

Both private and shared room options are planned for most retreats. Exact availability and pricing will be listed with each retreat. Participants who require a private room for medical, halachic, or personal reasons should indicate this at registration.

Separate Sleeping Arrangements

Where applicable, separate sleeping areas for men and women will be provided in accordance with Jewish standards of tzniut (modesty). Details will be specified for each retreat location.

Bathrooms

Clean, private bathroom facilities. Details vary by location and will be specified with each retreat listing.

Linens and Towels

Linens and towels are provided unless otherwise noted. A complete packing list will be included with each retreat's registration information.

Accessibility

We are committed to making Silent Retreatment accessible to participants with mobility limitations or other accessibility needs. Please contact us in advance so we can assess the specific retreat location's accessibility and make appropriate arrangements.

Quiet Hours

Quiet hours are observed throughout the retreat. The entire environment is designed to support silence — not just during formal silent periods, but as a general atmosphere of calm and consideration.

Shabbat Considerations

Retreat locations are selected with Shabbat observance in mind. Eruv status, walking distances, and Shabbat-appropriate facilities are all considered in venue selection. Details will be specified for each retreat.

Parking and Transportation

Parking information and transportation guidance will be provided with each retreat's registration details. Carpooling coordination may be available for participants traveling from the same area.

What to Bring

A detailed packing list will be provided with each retreat's registration information. In general, participants should plan to bring comfortable, modest clothing appropriate for a Jewish retreat environment, a journal, comfortable walking shoes, and any personal religious items (tallis, tefillin, siddur, etc.). Leave behind devices, work materials, and anything that would pull your attention away from the retreat.

  • Comfortable, modest clothing for several days
  • A journal and pen
  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • Personal religious items: tallis, tefillin, siddur, tehillim
  • Any required medications
  • A small amount of cash for any personal needs
